Bringing Light to Those in Need This Ramadan Ramadan is a time of deep spiritual reflection, unity, and giving. Families come together to break their fast, mosques are filled with prayers, and generosity is at the heart of every home. It is a month that reminds us of gratitude and the importance of helping those in need. However, for millions of Syrians who have endured years of war, displacement, and economic hardship, Ramadan is not just a time of devotion but also a time of struggle. Many families cannot afford basic food items for iftar and suhoor, children go to bed hungry, and widowed mothers face the heartbreaking challenge of providing for their little ones with little to no resources. In refugee camps and conflict-affected areas, the warmth of Ramadan is overshadowed by the harsh realities of daily survival. Rising food prices, lack of medical care, and limited access to essential supplies make this holy month especially difficult for those already suffering. That is why Basmeh & Zeitooneh is launching the Ramadan Hope Campaign, for vulnerable families inside Syria. Our mission is simple yet vital: to ensure that no family faces this sacred month alone. Through food assistance, warm iftar meals, we aim to restore a sense of dignity, hope, and joy to those who need it most. This Ramadan, let us stand together in the spirit of compassion and solidarity. Solidarity for Lebanon: Urgent Response to Displacement and Crisis
Emergency Response Organised by The Smile & Olive Foundation Lebanon is in crisis, with thousands displaced due to escalating violence. Basmeh & Zeitooneh is providing urgent shelter, food, and essentials to those in need. Donate now to stand in solidarity with Lebanon's most vulnerable and save lives. Story The recent escalation in hostilities has had a devastating impact on South Lebanon and the Bekaa region. According to the Lebanese Ministry of Health and the United Nations, the lives of nearly 500 civilians were lost, over 1,500 people were injured, and more than 113,000 were displaced from their homes. The situation is worsening, with casualties rising daily. In response, Basmeh & Zeitooneh (B&Z) is mobilizing to provide urgent relief for displaced families. We are focusing on equipping shelters, providing food, hygiene kits, and essential non-food items. Our emergency response team is working around the clock to assess the situation, and while areas remain unclear, we are preparing to intervene wherever the need is greatest all over Lebanon. With your support, we can deliver life-saving assistance to those most affected by this crisis. Since 2021, B&Z has reached over 100,000 internally displaced persons, refugees, and vulnerable host communities. Together, we can ease the suffering of those most in need. Your donations will help us provide: - Shelter and Essential Supplies - Non-Food Items (NFIs): Each kit contains 1 mattress, 1 blanket, and 1 pillow per person. - Ready-to-Eat Meals: Each meal includes 2 bottles of water, juice, sweet tahini, a croissant or cake, and a date. - Hygiene Kits: Each kit for a household includes tissues, wipes, liquid hand soap, dish soap, a sponge, manual washing detergent, shampoo, toothpaste, 5 toothbrushes, and feminine hygiene products. - Duty of Care for Displaced Staff: Ensuring the well-being and support of our staff who are also impacted by displacement. - Food Items - Psychosocial Support for Children
